Totally agree.

I live in Russia and i love to ride in winter (on my slick tires, haha), i love drifting on packed snow, but YES, snirt is the worst thing that can be.
It often accumulates on the side of the road and you're simply forced to dismount and walk to not to risk and dont get a car accident if suddenly there is ice under the snirt and you fall.

Madison Wisconsin here, I will be contacting local officials to ask them to please tell the plows to CLEAR the entire painted bike lanes as well as write to the local press about it. Great channel, super great video, inspirational!!!!

I have so much respect for winter commuters in places where it snows for months on end. Even with the horrible rain, wind and cold of England's winter, at least riding on wet roads is consistent in its sketchiness.

That andbif you do take a fall, snirt is definitely the last thing you want to be covered in

I find there are a few variations, I guess of "snirt." I find there are often side streets with packed tire tracks from cars that are super slippery, and then between them, still loose snow that just forces you to slide around. I guess that's what you mean "picks up your bike."
Do you know what equipment is used to intentionally compact the snow? Here in Toronto, we have some lovely recreational trails that end up with deep ruts that end up freezing almost solid, surrounded by millions of tiny potholes, otherwise known as footprints. Our trail system is such an oasis, I starve for these trails in the winter....
