Anyone can frostbike and I'm here to share a few tips. These are things I would've loved to know before starting! But I needed to put in the hours and learn them myself.

I break this video down into four sections:
1. changing your thinking
2. how to dress for frostbiking
3. how to protect your eyes
4. how to BE SEEN on the road

i bike all year in calgary on my yuba cargo bike. Dress in layers, double layer mitts, wool thermal long underwear, wool socks, quilted jacket, wind jacket and pants and a large reflective vest. I have a magnetic light on the front tire and reflective spokes. I ride every day on the sidewalks and bike paths to work. I 'd rather fall on the sidewalk than on the road. I fell two weeks ago on the road due to slick conditions, when that happens you pray that the drivers give you enough space to get the bike up and hurry off the road. I always wear my helmet, i saved my head two weeks ago.

Excellent video as usual! I started winter biking in 2010 and I still learned a lot from this video.

Great video. Greetings from Edmonton where is will be -46 tonight. We're still cycling and not even calling it "frostbiting". Keep up the good work and the shiny side up.

I also wear hardware store glasses bc the cold air kills my corneas at first and I’m tearing up like a grade 8 gal at the Friday night dance! 😭

Respect for running ahead to place a tripod then riding into your shot! Anything for the tube! I also appreciate your wind noise reduction on the outdoor to camera with NO LAV. :)

What are you using for audio? It's very clear.

cars never see you in any condition, if anything they see and ignore you, so take it as a fact and ride defensively all year around as a vulnerable road user (until one day we get proper bike infrastructure here in Canada)

Be as lit up as possible in the low light and dark when around vehicles. I have seen a dude that rides with Christmas lights on his bike

Hello my name is Henry, I'm a cycling lover from Colombia, and I'm planning to move to Toronto next year, but I don't know how cycling works there, so I'd really appreciate if you can share with me some ideas to keep in mind if Im lucky enough to have my bike there, as a transportation and training on the road.
May I chat with you on WhatsApp? Or maybe via email? If it is fine for you I have some other doubts to share. Please let me know if I'm not being annoying.

Have a great day.

Thank you,

Please calm down with the hands moving please. Check out the professional videos. I am on the autism spectrum of being high functional. I never wear blue jeans when cycling. I'm 71 and a lifetime cyclist. Calm down. If I didn't like your enthusiasm I would not be commenting.
