Hands down the BEST KNITTED football boot of 2024

10 years ago, Nike released knitted football boots took over the entire industry! It goes down in history as one of the most significant and impactful technologies ever introduced, with the world of football boots forever being changed. 10 years later, and true knitted boot options aren't quite as abundant, but there's no question in my mind that Nike still isn't dominating the space!

In today's video we discuss why the Nike Phantom GX 2 Elite, along with the mid-cut Luna 2, are hands down the best knitted football boots of 2024. We discuss the good, what I'm not such a big fan of, how they compare to the competition, as well as how they stack up against the OG that is the Magista Obra! I would argue that the New Balance Tekela v4+ LOW is actually the best knit boot on offer. It has a more pliable upper & more neutral soleplate. The knit is arguably softer & the GX2/Luna2 is VERY voluminous boot & if your foot is narrow/low profile, the boot has SO MUCH dead space & becomes sloppy

The GX1 was soooo comfortable but way too tacky/sticky for me. No amount of time got me used to it. Makes sense though as I prefer leather. Bring back the hypervenom 3!

The gx2 Luna are so stiff and tapered AT the toebox i don't understand why so much people say it is a wide shoe, it is not. Same size 10us the vapor and superfly are wider than these shoes at the toebox be aware of that if you did not try them before buying

Hi Josh, im a keeper that play often on ag surfaces a little old and rough and i constanly do split saves, so the front and sides (especially where the thumb is and the inner side of the shoe) of the foot are subject to quite violent rubbing. Is this shoe durable enough to withstand these constant abrasions or would it be better to opt for a shoe like the new Tiempo? Thanks u.

How are phantom takedowns? I like them a lot, especially the look of the black and white colorway, but the price is wayyy out of my range. Is the gripknit only on the top end version?

With the fg soleplate I’d go as far as saying they’re some of the worst boots on the market. The shape of the boot feels off and the soleplate is just awful. Never tried the ag so I can’t speak on that but it’s sad to see the direction they took with those boots.
