Not even a Southampton fan, but this fan forum was absolutely amazing, Southampton fans please do not take this for granted

I'm not happy with how things are but think it's good the club have done this - the board have faced the questions and the club shared this quickly. Not convinced by some of the answers - was hoping the 'reference points' were going to be more compelling.

I respect them for fronting up. I still want Jones out, though.

“I speak on behalf of 25, 000 fans who listen to my space” 😂 Whoever the fella is holds himself in pretty high regard, embarrassing

i do believe we have a good board and ownership, the investment says as much which we’ve all been wanting. had we managed to get that top striker in the summer, things might’ve been different. i never wanted jones and still don’t but i do feel sorry for him because i don’t blame him for accepting the job. i’ve pretty much accepted relegation and think we’d still get relegated even if we changed manager. only thing we as fans can do is trust the process, enjoy a season of football in the championship and hopefully get promoted straight away. maybe it’ll bring back our atmosphere again because it’s been dead for a while now.

Can sympathise with you all hating your manager and wanting him gone and absolutely don’t blame you one bit, but seriously don’t take this for granted, as this is fantastic. Our board at Everton hide from fans and throw us under the bus, yours are fronting up despite being rock bottom of the league. Think this is absolutely amazing and wish we had something similar.

Our problem dates back to when we sold all our best players koeman left us etc we had champions league players we sold them and we replaced them with league 1 players and didn't fill in the positions we needed

Fronted up well. Well done. I'm behind the board. I'm not behind the manager

Rasmus has installed confidence and came across well, my question would be as CEO of Sport Republic how much of his time is devoted to Southampton FC?

We march on, down to the championship with Nathan at the helm

Perhaps we have to acknowledge that basically since the Koeman/Pochettino days no manager has really managed to get a lot out of this team, Ralph didn't leave the squad in a great spot and the takeover and new management has put us into a position where effectively a new young and largely inexperienced team is being built while under immense pressure to stay in the league. Nathan Jones has been landed with a very tough job and the fans understandably don't have a lot of energy left, I gave up my season ticket last year because of the costs, but the atmosphere at games has been getting worse year on year, with all that in mind it's going to take something special to turn this around.

I'm a Saints fan of 40 years - I'm embarrassed more by these uppity fans who just expect a bland PR man to have been put in charge and instant success. Clough and Ferguson both lost most of their games in the first few months in charge of Forest and Utd respectively. Jones is gruff and a bit mad but so were both of those legends of the game. We used to be a club where the fans had a good sense of humour and a kind of folk wisdom.

Agree that we should be putting young players into the team....

maybe they should've asked them if they think Nathan Jones is the best in Europe

Nathan jones should of been present regardless as the fans forum was basically questions about him so he should of been present to answer them with the greatest of respect

Love the question about the owners being more engaged, could really do with bringing the fans together as we move forward. Should have been scarfs given out when we played Newcastle at home

I trust the board. I think NJ was and is a mistake, but I appreciate there were and are reasons for him to be here. I get the feeling that his time is nearly up from the board. I dont feel any ego from SR, but I do from NJ. We have played well twice imo. If we get a win, then who knows what that will lead to. UTS

Kudos to the board, I think we're lucky to have them.. even if it seems like their first managerial appointment has been a failure. I personally don't see a way that it can be turned around from that perspective and I really hope they are willing to act fast if necessary.

One thing you should be grateful for his having owners and a board who face the music and back the manager financially.
Look at the likes of Liverpool who have probrably got the best manager and the worst owners and board
They don't back the manager and never face up to the fans.
Be thankful for small mercies.

Atleast these owners have the balls to answer tough questions and are committed to this football club investing there money compared to the previous owner Jisheng Gao
