here are some clips of cylinder block fabrication from solid cast iron material and solid bar stock.
The castings are Little Engines and blocks ductile iron.
The castings need to be checked for overall accuracy and core locations.
I generate two datam surfaces on the bore faces checking and shimming to keep the rough sides square to help appearance when done.
Second I rough bores working to the rough cast overall surfaces.
When cleanup is assured finish things up.
Shifting of the castings may be required
if the cored holes or other finished surfaces will not clean up in tolerance.
