I'm a licensed massage therapist. I see functional leg length discrepancies all the time. They can be caused by a spinal reflex issue as well, but Matt is spot on here. Very good description of what is going on in these situations. It is so rare to find "trainers" who really understand what is happening and problem solve appropriately. Thankyou!! been looking for a definitive way to see. Standing I have 3cm difference giving me si and hip issues but this test proves its a tilted pelvis.No one else on youtube has come up with this clever test well done

thanks so much! I was able to tell my right femur is longer than the other. This finally explains why I've had IT band syndrome on my right side for so long no matter how many times I rehab it, it always comes back. Time for a heel lift in my left shoe!

Brilliant test. For somebody who has a "slant" in the board, another way to determine which half of the leg it is is to look in the mirror and see if one knee is higher than the other. If so, the tibia is longer. If the knees are the same height, the femur is longer.

Love everything you teach. My left leg is shorter because of an accident years ago, it shorter from my knee down, as the years went by my hip is not even. I'm going to try what you show, thank you

This is SO helpful! I have been very "lopsided" in strength and flexibility for DECADES. Now I know some knew things about how to train better. (Like, for sure AFTER I measure my legs to see if they're the same length!) ;-)
