Dry your own herbs by spread them out on a paper towel in a dry location, a sunny windowsill, or a warm oven. Store the dried herbs in large containers so they stay whole, and break them up in small batches when you need them to preserve the flavor.

Very simple and helpful video!! Didn’t realize the logic in keeping herb leaves whole until needed. Duh! Also didn’t realize some herbs intensify with drying. You are awesome, bruh!

You just inadvertently answered my question as to whether I could basically crush them and squish them into metal tins, much easier to store and see the labels than standard shop bought herb jars.

Thanks for the video.

I don't understand why so many channels recommend a heating method like a microwave, oven or dehydrator. Heat destroys nutrients. Air drying them by various methods (basket, paper towels, hanging, etc) is a win win. I came here to find out how long it takes to dry herbs by air but I'm not finding that information amywhere.

Thanks for the video but

Where did you get the jar with the cork from?

we are planting a large herb garden this year- we were thinking of storing the herbs in either mylar bags (small ones) then into double deal tea tins when we want to use-- or small mason jars with a O2 absorber then sealing the lid to remove the air- what are your thoughts thanks

Thank you so very much for making this simple and easy for me to try and inspire me to go for it in my soon to be herb garden! I subscribed. How long do they need to sit in the turned off 200 degrees oven?
