No talk of hibridium vs stygium crystals technologies? This was from the old EU canon but it explained a few things including the line “a ship that size is too small for a cloaking device” from episode IV. hibridium needed more space and created a double blind effect, where the stygium crystals method was normal you can’t see me I can see you setup. Stygium was considered super rare and next to impossible to acquire. In the old saga edition rpg I’d never let my players buy it, they’d have to have a whole mission arc to find and recover it. I think Thrawn plays games with the hibridium version on asteroids orbiting Coruscant. The Scimitar was stygium system.

Cloaking has subcategories, specifically whether the cloaked vessel is blind (2-way cloak) or if it can see and attack outside ships (1-way cloak).

I don't know if cloaking must be dropped to transition to and from hyperspace.
