Green tea salt scrub recipe
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients
Clear glass jar, 250 ml (8.5 oz)
270 grams (9.5 oz) sea salt
13 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 bags of green tea
1 rounded tsp green tea powder
10 drops lemongrass essential oil
10 drops of lime essential oil
Benefits
The sea salt is full of minerals. It not only exfoliates the skin, but it is also a natural detoxifier. The sea salt has antiseptic effects and increases blood circulation.
The olive oil contains a huge amount of vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant which protects the skin from ageing. It softens your skin and makes it very smooth.
The green tea is full of antioxidants and antibacterial agents. It helps to delay the signs of ageing and improves the elasticity of the skin.
The lemongrass and the lime essential oils have an antidepressant and antibacterial effect. The lemongrass essential oil smells like lemons but in a sweeter and milder way. Lime oil has a sharp citrus scent. Combining the two oils gives a fresh and energizing aroma to the body scrub.
Directions
Pour the sea salt into a bowl and add the extra virgin olive oil.
Tear the bags of green tea and empty the leaves. Add them to the mixture.
Add the green tea powder, the lemongrass essential oil and lime essential oil. Stir the mixture for few minutes and that’s it.
Pour the body scrub into the glass jar. Your energizing body scrub is ready for use.
How to use it
Wet your skin and then massage it with the body scrub. Rinse with warm water and a shower gel. You can use it 2-3 times a week.
How long it last
The body scrub will be good for use within a month.
Tips and common mistakes
You can use whatever carrier oil you have on hand instead of olive oil.
Be careful how much green tea powder you are adding unless you want to start looking like Shrek while applying the body scrub. I made that mistake the first time. Luckily I easily washed it using a soap.
