It works! To delete "Recent deleted", I actually waited for quite a few minutes until it shows "Recent Deleted". So if you have the same problem for Step 2, please wait for a few minutes. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. It's RIDICULOUS that Apple forces users to do a hack like this to solve what is likely a very common problem (phone full of photos). There should instead be a "Select All" button, since a delete confirmation dialog is already in place to prevent accidental deletion. Further, if you do accidentally delete all your photos, they're not really deleted yet until you delete them from the Deleted Photos folder on your phone. Boo Apple...
