The Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra are two popular compact sedans that share a lot of similarities. Both offer great EPA-estimated gas mileage and won't break the bank. What sets these two small sedans apart? Which one should you buy? In this car comparison video, Ryan ZumMallen breaks down all the details on the 2020 Corolla and the 2020 Sonata to help you decide which car is right for you. Ryan covers each car's interior features, driving experience, styling, and much more. It's the Corolla vs. Elantra in this compact sedan comparison.

One of Toyota's best-selling cars, the Corolla was given a much-needed redesign for the 2020 model year. The updated styling gives the 2020 Corolla a more modern look and adds some personality that was lacking in the previous generation. Its looks now make it stand out in a crowd of small cars. The Corolla's interior is spacious with good rear-seat access. Toyota also made a point to avoid plastic materials when possible, giving the inside a more sophisticated look and feel. While you're not going to win many drag races, the Corolla is a great daily driver. It is light on the road and easy to drive around town, and the EPA-estimated fuel economy on the 2020 Corolla is strong. We also give the Corolla high marks for offering a manual transmission.

The 2020 model was the last Elantra of its generation, as Hyundai redesigned its small sedan for 2021. And while the styling does feel a bit dated, it still has a clean and modern appearance. Like the Corolla, the Elantra isn't going to blow you away with its speed or acceleration. The steering is light at low speeds and firm on the highways so that you always feel in control. The 2020 Elantra has impressive EPA-estimated fuel economy, ranking near the top in its class. Taking a look inside, the Elantra's interior is pretty straightforward. The controls are laid out where they're supposed to be, and all the buttons and knobs are all easy to reach. Space is great up front, but taller passengers might hit their heads on the ceiling in the back. But there is an extra inch of legroom over the Corolla.

The Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra are two great options for your next used sedan. Used Corollas and used Elantras can be found at an affordable price point and provide a strong list of features and solid EPA-estimated gas mileage. Which of these used compact sedans is right for you might come down to personal preference. The 2020 Toyota Corolla has newer styling and a more comfortable ride. The 2020 Elantra gives you more storage space and the potential for better fuel economy, at a lower price. So which of these small sedans is right for you? The choice is yours - we're just here to help.

Hyundai has good designs on par with Toyota or maybe better but their drawback is unreliable, fire hazardous engine, and too much plastic! Toyota is better in mostly every way!!
