Toyota was about to finish building a statue of Scotty, now they are having a change of plans 😂

We got one. It’s honestly such a bargain so far
Picked it specifically because it’s one of the few dual clutch, gear box, hybrids out there. Slightly more expensive than a Corolla but miles better space, look, dual climate, heated seats, faster, real alloy wheels. Was a no brainer

I nearly choked on my food when Scotty said he likes this thought he would say such a thing about a Hyundai car.

Scotty Kilmer giving a Hyundai a compliment sure is a sign of the end times 😨

I bought a 2023 Elantra SEL with the convenience package in September of 2022, driven over 20k miles and I love it. Drives very smooth, i dont even feel it shift. I got the SEL so not hybrid but i get 46 mpg at 75 mph, 52 mpg at 60 mph and 38-40 mpg in the city. The driver assist features are great, i basically dont have to do anything when i get on the highway until i leave the highway or if the lines break. It's the best handling car I've driven by far, I've driven a couple of bmws and Mercedes. I also have a 100k mile warranty on everything and a lifetime powertrain warranty which was the biggest selling point tbh

That was the big problem with the sonata hybrid at work when they first came out ... the car would literally buck trying to hunt for a gear, the transmission didn't last long. At the time they also had issues with the power relays for the HV battery pack overheating.

I actually prefer CVT for hybrid, it matches the power curve better.

Hey Scotty I just became a huge fan. I’m a young and almost 18 year old. I want to learn more and more about cars I’m basically a beginner . I don’t know really where to start and it’s kinda overwhelming but I’m slowly learning from your videos thank you You’re the man

I have a 2021 Elantra that is not a hybrid but still averages 46 miles to the gallon. So far its been a really great vehicle but I havent owned it for about 8 months.

Scotty is correct in the fact that the Honda Hybrids DO NOT have a spare tire, the Toyota's do though. The eCVT's in the Hybrids though are NOT like the conventional CVT's with "bands" totally different transmissions. So keep that in mind as well.

This actually makes me think about getting a hybrid. I usually don't even consider them because of the cvt. Had a couple nissans, not hybrid, with cvt and they both were nothing but trouble.

I'm a Honda guy but I really like the looks of the Tucson Limited(a small SUV) and bought one over the CRV back in 2017 .. It has the dual clutch system and yes its jerky but fun to drive - good torque . I have 130, 000 miles and never had any kind of problems with the SUV.. 1.6 Turbo.

You can tell Scotty hasn't driven that generation Elantra with a CVT. My wife has a 2022 one (and I hate CVTs too). But that CVT is awesome. They call theirs IVTs. But when you are a little aggressive with the throttle, it changes the transmission to preset shift points and it feels identical to a standard geared transmission. And it's QUICK. And it's a non-turbo.

Scotty. I work at a dealer where we service Kia. I’ve seen 2023 Kia’s with a crack in every cylinder. And they’re still making the tech do fuel tests. They’re also stingy to fix their own issues. Side trim coming apart after 1k miles. Save your money!!

Have been looking at this car for a while, was hesitant when I found out about CVT but the hybrid option looked good. But the words of my trusted Hyandai sceptic kept me hesitant. Good chance I'll be buying this, although trim options are a little different in my country
