"Corridos" doesn't really mean "cumshots" lol (the translator probably mistook it for the slang "correrse" which does mean "cum"). I think "corrido" doesn't really have a clear meaning in english. However, the corrido is a type regional Mexican music where they usually tell a story of someone or something or they even just brag about themselves like in hiphop. "tumbado" does mean laid down or dropped down, meaning this style of corrido has a more "chill" less energic sound, in a slower, more fluid 6/8 rhythm, compared to other corridos in fast 4/4 rhytms.

The black nylon lets you get the really percussive type of sound on the bass but they regular g lets you go high without any unwanted resonance because it is in the same frequency as the actual drums

My neighbor’s teen son came over for a bit of bass guidance. He’s of Mexican American descent. He ended up giving me a music lesson on this new style of music. Here in Atlanta USA they call it trap corridos (I guess).

Now imagine this older white dude driving around listening to corridos. That’s me! It’s pretty funny. Speaking fluent Spanish as a second language helps too. But yes, love this style with its emphasis on BEHS or bAss or whatever. :P I am appreciative to this young man for showing me this new style! Free lessons for life! Mu ha ha ha

Finally! Happy seeing you discovering mexican corridos bass playing. That woman in the last clip went viral a couple months ago for that exact video. But yeah they play the bass and 12 string in very interesting ways in mexican corridos.

I used to work at a place with many Latino men and one of them played acoustic bass like this. I totally dig this type of music and style of bass-playing. I ended up liking many styles of Latino music, especially Cumbia. As a recording audio engineer and a musician, I love working with people from various cultures and learning about different styles of music!

Im a middle school music teacher. I teach mariachi, band, and guitar. It's so cool to see my students being passionate about music. Some of my 12 year olds actually gig with this type of music. Corridos are just songs that tell a story. Basically Mexico's version of country music.

Just to give you a better background, the origin of the word "bajoloche" comes from the mix of "bajo" (bass) and "tololoche" (also take a look at that) which is a mexican attempt of an upright bass with nylon strings giving a more percursive sound when slapping...
Since long time ago "corridos" have existed but the new wave is "corridos tumbados" which is traditional mexican music with a mix of trap, pop, rock and blues....

They use black nylon tapes because they're the best bass strings.
Extremely snappy and bright slap tone but very full-sounding when played normally. They do everything. Really surprised they're not more popular.
