Many Volvo ##40 reviewers complain about the infotainment system and the lack of 'more' physical buttons, you are the first one (that I saw) that explains the use of the voice control and how that replaces many functionalities of the lack of physical buttons. You mentioned safety, I personally think it is safer also to use voice control rather then going to a physical button or the infotainment, my wife will be pleased with that feature and, me being goofy, I'll probably flirt with the Google assistant while sitting in the passenger seat and we will laugh at GA's reply. Nice demonstration. I found the infotainment & physical controls work well together in my 2023 C40 Recharge. All the critical controls for driving have traditional buttons, knobs, and stalks. Voice commands work really well, and I have a speech impediment: most systems and my wife & kids have no idea what I am trying to say. Sometimes the infotainment system needs a nap after working too long. I guess the Swedes have liberal labor laws with nap times. My favorite feature is one-pedal driving. Volvo made it very natural.

Mike, This was really well done. I am looking for more on the connect my phone, sett up google account and the car connectivity. My 2024 XC40 worked fine since I took delivery in March 2024. But in Aug the connectivity just changed ... and suddenly GPS and maps didnt work. I had to manually tether via bluetooth in my phone which previously I hadn't had to do. Can't find this info anywhere. Thanks Eric

Hi Mike. Thanks for the video. I' in the UK and have just taken delivery of a Volvo XC40 Recharge. I'm loving it apart from the tiny, hidden away digital clock. Is there an app that I can add an analogue clock to the infotainment screen?

Thanks for the details! Very helpful. Do you know how to manually shut down the infotainment system when in park or the vehicle is turned off? Im using the key blade to close up for ocean activity & when I lock it, the infotainment system stays on.

The stuff with videos and multiple audio sources is way over my head. I need to learn how to toggle from FM radio to AM; and from radio to Sirius. And how to save favorites. I date back to an era when an AM radio had five push button stations. I'm an old LT guy (low tech). Suggestions, please!

It is ironic that update come OTA, but at 10:29 you can see that it states that 2.4 will only be installed at workshops. So most updates are OTA, few require workshop visits

On PHEV like S60 Recharge, can you change drive mode by voice command (hybrid, power, pure, AWD)?? If so, awesome!! If not, that def needs incorporated.

And can you play an album or song from iphone library via bluetooth using voice command. That also would be essential.

I just bought a Volvo s60 T8 Plus (plug in hybrid) - for people who don't know, in POWER mode this thing really flies (0-60 in FOUR seconds), but it drives great in EV mode, as well.

A couple of questions -

• Do adapters and charging stations allow me to charge this car at a Tesla Supercharger yet? If not, when are they due to be available? What model adapter would I need for this vehicle?

• When charging the Volvo at a Tesla Supercharger how do I pay? Do you insert a credit card as one would when buying gas at a traditional service station, or is it all app driven?
