That could be brilliant. Make it even better start a campaign off with them effected and only let them on as the characters figure it out

Played something similar with a friend of mine but it wasn't a curse, we literally played half-elf twins, the brother a Bard/Rogue while the sister a full rogue.

They were so attached to each other that they would only speak alternating between the two of them, one of the two would always begin the sentence while the other would end it. Never prepared anything, full improvisation.

It was a blast, we had so much fun and the DM that was never informed of this at our character creation, absolutely loved it.

And there’s no backpedaling, so if a good aligned character gets linked to someone much more violent, they can’t clarify they just have to take the reputation hit

Only one word needed. "Dude" change the inflection and you have a way funnier way to communicate in spite of a curse.

I once hit a PC with the Opera curse from opening a trapped chest. For the next two hours, he had to sing all of his dialogue.
