How to dig deeper faster

Today I show you how to dig a dry hole a lot faster than typical "digging"

I knew that this was legitimate when I saw a cooler being used for a bucket

It helps to add a lot of water (a little at a time) to the soil over a few days before you start digging at all (except maybe a small area for the water to pool). Let the water soak into the ground and loosen the dirt, and keep adding until it stops soaking in. Once finished, dry up the pool and start digging. After, you won't need to add it as you dig, and you won't need to deal with mud.

I know several people have already said so, but a round shovel will help tremendously. Sharpen the blade of it like a knife (use a belt sander or grinding wheel to do it real quick). Using a sharp round shovel will make a tremendous difference - like cutting through butter. When you run into rocky areas, use your pickaxe (or a pry bar, or the back of a straight claw hammer) to break the rocks loose, then shovel them out. You may need to resharpen after hitting a lot of rocks.

Those are some important skills. I just dog a hole today. It's been freezing a few days and the ground was frozen, dug as far as I could push the spade use a 16 pound tamping iron with a digging tip and the pick and some wet snow lying around and little by little. Know how much you have to pay someone to bring their little excavator to dig you a hole.

For me the water is the problem lol. When I dig a hole and it reaches knee deep, water just comes in from the side. I'm digging clay and mud at that point and it makes it 3x harder

Dude .
Step 1 - get a long crow bar into it to loosen it up the shovel it out..
Step 2 - repeat step 1
Step 3 - just keep doing step 1 and 2 .

This works well. When I had to dig it rained so that helped ALOT. invite your friends and drink beer. Have them all take a piss in the hole!!!!
