That is really cool, so awesome seeing the different shapes, and with those couple of longer one, it's very alien almost, like something from the Expanse!

As i work with metals, this is so beautiful! I wonder what mounting it in epoxy, polishing and etching would reveal? Im betting the microstructure would be absolutely insane. Grain size analysis would tell you how its all put together nicely :)

At some point in the future it will be "I'm going to cast a youtube play button from Bismuth"
Casting a Spicy channel logo would be good as well.

That tear drop shaped piece @11:57 would make a stunning pendant.
Have you considered making some jewellery with it? It would be a change from your usual metal works but would be canny awesome 👍🏻😎

You could probably make totally random and unique jewellery out of that. Would just need to find a way to set them

Could you do me a fat favour my old chum bucket. Melt some down in a taller container, then dip a necklace or a sink plug chain into it and see if you can make a... well a necklace or a charm thingy. Could you also make a small frame, dip it and have it solidify around the frame?
If so I think I may have to buy some.

Nice video. I can give some expert tipps if u want "step up" the crystals.

stainless steel melting pot
stainless steel crystalization BOWL without handle
Use a lot of rockwool for insulation!!! NO SAND OR ALU FOIL !!!
Only use stainless steel bowls ;never ever ceramic or teflon coated
at least 5 kilo material = a full 0.5 liter bowl

good luck and stay safe

Spicy that's epic, do you think you could coat things in the Bismuth? Obviously metals and not plastics haha. Fab colours though.

Completely unrelated spicy but do you still want old disc brakes etc for clock work? I’ve got 2 front and a rear of an ER6N
