I've been a plumber for 30 years, if you use that anywhere else but the floor you're going to blow the drain lines right out of the wall, especially if they're old galvanized, this is only good for a limited application

Now, they just need to make a tool that removes shit from ceilings

Lots of people don't seem to understand that there is never a one size fits all answer to things like this. If you need a plumber, call one. A licensed and insured one. If you're willing to risk diy something going wrong go ahead. But one thing I've learned over time is that people who do specific jobs can have EXTREMELY specific tools and techniques for when things are going tits up. Sure, if your pipes are installed correctly and within reasonable age this tool shouldn't break your pipes. But if it does you'll want the plumber there to at the very least bandaid the new problem. I would never use pressurized air in the 120ish year old house I'm in now. At most i have a manual snake for just in case, anything beyond that I'm paying a plumber, because water damage is a whole mf problem i do not want any part of

My coworker used this one day, blew the fern coat off. Next morning tenant in #2 calling about water coming through their ceiling. It works really good it’s just a risk if you’re working on an old pipe or if the pipes been repaired before.

I absolutely love this tool, much easier than snaking every single time. We use the next size up suction cup due to the drain size, but it is an absolute back saver!

For anyone that doesn't know, this device injects a packet of mentos into the drain at approx ~700ft/second. The rest is quite easy to figure out, they erupt and unblock the drain in seconds.

There are a bunch of production home neighborhoods in my area. A plumber friend of mine told me he’s been to at least 10 houses where people used pressure clog removers. They thought they removed the clog but they really just blew a poorly connected elbow somewhere in the line. They all had nasty poopy water, hair, and TP somewhere it shouldn’t be requiring major repairs. He says if you live in a production home or question the quality of the plumber who did the work never ever ever use anything like this to clear a clog.

I have a small bladder not in me in my toolbox. I stick it in that hole hook up the water hose to fill up then blast through the buildup in the pipe. It works.

I've done this with a similar tool year's ago, though I cleared it until I came down stairs to see dirty water coming through the ceiling. Turns out I blew all the joints 😂
