This doesn't mean he's not a Christian... We all fall short of the glory of God. He needs prayers for God to free him from his addictions or strong holds... I have been a Christian since I was 7. There were several years in my twenties I fell into drug addiction, pre marital sex... All kinds of bad things... But God pulled me out of the miry clay and freed me from all my sins and shame and addiction and strong holds!! I pray God would pull him back to him . That he would convict him deep in his heart and bring him back to Jesus
