Turtle Nesting Documentary | The Arrival

2000 turtles lay their eggs in one day on a Nicaraguan beach in latest Arribada.

The Olive Ridley Turtle Arribada is one of the most spectacular natural phenomena to happen in Central America.

Just south of San Juan Del Sur in Nicaragua, thousands of turtles arrive on the same beach to lay their eggs each year.

These usually solitary reptiles gather in their thousands on Playa La Flor to dig their nests in the sand. It is one of the few remaining locations in the world that this takes place.

Within just a few days, the beach is empty again.
We were lucky enough to spend two days with these majestic creatures and have made a documentary about the Olive Ridley turtle nesting season.

This is an event I desperately, DESPERATELY want to witness for myself one day. I came really close one year in Costa Rica, but then my father-in-law had some health issues and needed us to stay with him in his place there, so we couldn't drive down the coast and stay overnight away from him. Maybe one year!!! Beautifully edited and narrated video.

We were on a turtle beach like that in Turkey about 10 years ago, never say them but man you got some amazing footage. What a sight to see them returning to the sea and what a sunset too and when they young made a dash for the sea - jaw dropping! Cheers Alan
