On the 30th of March 2020, the world wake up to find that Michael Angelis has suddenly passed away from a heart attack according to his agent. The news quickly spread online especially in the Thomas the Tank Engine community, as Angelis was known for his narration on the show. News outlets in the UK soon picked up the story and tributes started to flow in from those who knew him from Thomas and his many other roles.

It doesn't seem real to me that Michael Angelis is gone, and in such a sudden way too. So I made this video as a tribute to the amazing narrator and talented actor, show casing some of his TV roles throughout his carrier.

Even though Ringo Starr is my favourite narrator as I am a huge Beatles fanatic, Michael played a huge role in my life growing up with the series. His narration could go from soft ASMR like bed time calmness to loud, extreme and exciting, he knew he had range in his voice and he defiantly showed it in Thomas. This lead me to look at his other film and TV roles especially loving his role in The Boys from the Blackstuff.

I with many Thomas fans are still grieving his death as it was so sudden.
We will miss you dearly Michael, the voice of many a childhood.

Shows In This Video:

No matter what he was in, you could tell he was putting his all into each and every performance. Such an underrated actor. He deserved more bigger and famous roles than he did get. I loved his performances in Thomas, Boys from The Blackstuff, The Bill, The Jump etc. R.I.P. Michael. Best Narrator Ever.

How old was he exactly? Some sources say he was 68 but others say he was 76.
