This is the best comparison between these two laptops on youtube. No flavor added, just dry specs.

By far one of the best comparisons I've seen of the M3 Mac Air and the new Surface Laptop. No glazing, only pure info.

I hate the notch on the Macbook but also hate the asymmetrical bezels on the Surface. I still am not able to understand which one I hate the most.

For me, any laptop that can last more than 10 hours is good enough for me, and being able to have close to the same performance level unplugged with the new Snapdragon CPU Window's laptops is a big bonus.

The backlight bleed on the Mac displays are so bad. I wonder why no body talks about that.

I really don't care much about AI. Windows remains the biggest issue, I hope Linux runs well on these machines.

Agree about the touchpad. I was so happy about the large trackpad when I bought my Macbook Pro 16, but it's too big for me. I just can't get used to using it. Always feel like I have to concentrate on where to tap rather than just using it. I think just slightly smaller, perhaps the size of that surface laptop, is just right?

I never got used to the notch. I ended up using that dark bar app to make the top section true black, to hide it.

Personally, I think all laptop chips are fast enough. Even the old M1 chips. But I love that the Elite chip has wifi 7 and AV1 encode and decode and keen to see what the extra AI capability can do in future. Although with Windows devs moving so slowly, I think by the time useful AI apps are good, we will have a 5 gen Elite chip in 2029

Great to finally see Windows laptops that are also quiet and doesn't lose 80% performance when unplugged. I really hope developers port their apps to ARM quickly. Still can't help but feel it might be worth using Mac for a couple more years until more apps run on ARM. IDK.

After using MacOS since I bought his Mac pro 16 M1 Max, along with my Windows work laptops, I still prefer Windows for how it manages, well, windows. Especially with multiple screens too. Let's just say I finally understood why Mac users always use apps in a windowed mode. I do love that Mac OS just always feels fast and snappy. Seems like there will always be compromises on both sides. O jeez and who doesn't hate all the non stop windows updates. Damn. Might just stick with my Macbook a few more years. But this Surface does look so nice

Well done Jerry, the best comparison on youtube so far. Just focusing on all the important areas on day to day activities for buyers.

I have to decide which one of these laptops I will but until tomorrow. I’ve never use a Mac, but the reflection of the surface’s screen worries me a

I have Apple 15 air and I love the device. But…use a lot of Office. Excel Mac is inferior, tried parallels with 16 gb and it stutters and jerks, and sheets and docs get format messed up when I send to colleagues with Windows. Am almost forced back to Windows. At least now there will be a machine close to par with the Air.

It's great that Windows users can now experience the amazing performance and usage of an ARM laptop... which I already had the joy of having 3 years ago with my M1 Macbook Air. It's too late now for Windows to win me back cos I've spent all this time entrenching my workflow into MacOS. The levels of productivity I gained and time saved with such a wonderful device has been priceless. It would take Apple to screw things up, be it with exorbitant prices or an OS disaster to make me switch back to Windows.

I have both. I like them both, I use them for work. It's all good. People are too picky.

I really wished Windows would come out with a true fanless laptop. While it's cool that the fans are near silent, I still would prefer a completely silent system with non moving parts with a on the go laptop. Never underestimate how brutal airport security or baggage handler can be!

The backlight on Mac keyboards are so bad. They're bleeding so badly.

the only downside is co-pilot windows. I use surface laptop for work and it's better than the dell laptops I've used in the past. good to see competition, but I don't trust co-pilot windows

Great comparison without the Fanboi histrionics, thank you. Seems like a valid Macbook competitor at last, but like most beta products, its probably worth waiting a few months for Microsoft to squash the bugs

Good video. IPerf runs with prism emulation. That might affect the result anyway? Just wondering as Qualcomm WiFi is supposed to be excellent on paper.
