Ka Bar makes some really great knives. I was gifted the same tanto knife you have. Mine has gone through lots of use on backcountry trips, from use as a chefs knife to bushcraft to use as an edge for my fire steel.

Leatherman’s advantage, to me, is it’s ease of repair and the fact they seem to last forever. Well made tools!

As you mention in your video, in S.H.T.F situations, being quiet to avoid detction is a necessity. The problem is, so many things attach ( or open ) now with hook and loop tape. It is almost impossible to open hook and loop quietly, (as you mentioned in your video). Almost all of my gear is attached with Molly webbing and carabineers For that reason.
KEEP the videos coming!

Back in my Marine Corps days, the e-tool handle was used as a stove for heat tabs to put the canteen cup on

I love the raised knobs on the Twistmaster's lock. I wish Opinel would put them on their locks.

A friend of mine has a K-Bar that he duct taped 2 canvas needles to the back of the sheath. He did that because it's out of the way and canvas needles can use the strands in paracord to sew up items/skin.

I have the bigger version of the Gerber and I eventually gave up on the sheath and found a molle sheath that has a plastic insert to protect the blade, two little snap pockets, and the sheath has snaps to snap the machete handle into place. And it is really nice that I can connect it to my backpack so I don't have it on my belt all the time, I don't think it would work with the smaller Gerber you have though. The only adjustment I made on it was moving the snaps up a little bit because it wouldn't fit around the bulky part of the handle and I raised it up so it would go around the less bulky part of the handle.

I dig your bug out gear sir. I am in the process of throwing my tools together as well. My advice would be to include a Lifestraw, cotton balls coated in petroleum jelly (Vaseline) for fire tinder because they take up basically no room and weigh nothing, fishing line and hooks, a service issue poncho, 50ft Paracord,  some resealable plastic bags, small sewing kit, a Gaiter because it's very versatile, and a couple space blankets which can be extremely useful. But if the apocalypse does come, I'm pretty sure it will be us prior service that rule the new world. I got my shotgun and a roll of toilet paper, I'm ready haha

The folding pak saw is nice. I've got one...well, half of one. Blade broke many years ago, but I still use the half that's left. Still more than I usually need. Sippy's getting out of hand. May be time for an intervention. ;-) Cheers!

Ive been wanting a Ka-Bar for years because of the reliability. Marines have trusted their lives to them and I feel like they are one of the best out there. I searched Cold Steels website couldn't find the Twist. However the Recon mini Ive heard great things about and watched a few videos showing its basically indestructible.

Great vid but I respectfully disagree about machete's. I bought a condor parang and haven't looked back. The thicker carbon steel blade and the rounded grind really make it into the best all around chopper I've used. The difference is surprising and instantly noticeable. It cost me 66$ and in comparison that's expensive but for the giant leap in ruggedness, I feel it's money well spent. I've never done a vid before but now I'm thinking that chopping a typical machete in half might be a fun one to record.
