Gene Hackman on Acting: A CHARLIE ROSE Conversation

Gene Hackman has been the recipient of tributes from around the world since his body was discovered along with his wife, Betsey Arakawa, a concert pianist and one of three dogs in their Sante Fe, New Mexico home.
Hackman was 95.
Gene Hackman made only one appearance on
CHARLIE ROSE when he had written a novel about the sea with co-author Daniel Lenihan, an underwater archeologist.

Love Charlie Rose. I remember when I was in college, I stumbled upon his show studying late into the night. He kept me company with stimulating conversation with artists, actors and politicians. His show, with only a black backdrop and a wooden table was surprising cutting edge & real. Awesome seeing his intro just now. This guy was podcast and vlog before those terms were invented.

Gene never gave a bad performance, even in "bad" movies. He didn't even have to "act" really, he was immensely likeable and watchable just being himself as evidenced here.
