How to share OneDrive files and folders | Microsoft

You can use OneDrive to share photos, Microsoft 365 documents, other files, and entire folders with people. The files and folders you store in OneDrive are private until you decide to share them and you can see who a OneDrive file is shared with or stop sharing at any time.

How to:
1. Go to the OneDrive website and sign in with your Microsoft account or your work or school account.
2. Pick the file or folder you want to share by selecting the circle in the upper corner of the item. You can also pick multiple items to share them together.
3. Select 'Share' at the top of the page.
4. Select 'Anyone with the link can edit' to customize the link options.
5. Set the options you want on your link, then select 'Apply' when you're done.

I tried sharing the folder on the desktop but it didn't work. Using a web browser and sharing the link to the folder as shown in this video solved my problem. Thanks for this solution. I am still left curious as to why this method works and the Share With button on the File Explorer didn't.

A demo of sharing a folder would have been better, since it would be good to see whether the recipient receives a zip file, since for novice users, sometimes unzipping is a challenge.

It lets my copy the link, but won't let you add the email address. Keeps coming up with an error. Good ol' Microsoft!

The ability to reuse a generated link would be a massive help. If the shared link is accidentally removed by someone in your team there's no way of getting it back which is a big pain.

Can you share a folder on One Drive from another hard drive and not from the C: drive like L:. my C: has a problem, cause the PSU I was using made the hard drive have drive errors on it but I tried to fix it and it says there's no errors on it but then has a problem syncing the files(you can hear the head going back and forth like it having a hard time writing and it will not sink 2 files from One Drive) You can see it downloading them in One Drive but then downloads them and they disappear and its still saying it syncing 2 files and never stops.
I can't find anywhere, where you can shear a folder from another drive on One Drive... very odd.

EDIT.. I had to delete the old files it was syncing over the top of them, then it worked. They were the older version of the files I was downloading(syncing) so make sure if the older version of the files are there then delete them first before you try to sync them again.
