disturbing TSA airport experience for my daughter

We are escaping the devastating California storms in Sacramento and headed to Miami, Florida for the fam's FIRST ever Disney Cruise! We are sailing on the Disney Dream for a 5 night voyage to the Bahamas... but FIRST, we have to get through a rough 12 hour long travel day through with a pitstop in Texas, where the airport security was NOT having it with Addelyn's reborn baby doll 🥺

They need to understand that even though they are not real. They are valuable, costly works of art. As collectors we want them respected and handled respectful just as they would handle a painting or sculpture.

Poor Addie, I remember how special and real my baby dolls were to me. I loved my dolls so much and I remember losing my favorite one on the city bus once. I’m 35 and still not 100% over it 😂😂😂 so I completely sympathize with Addie. Sending love! ❤😊

I had a similar experience around the age of 7. I had this stuffed unicorn that i brought with me EVERYWHERE. When I went through security they had to check it cause it was one of those stuffed animals that u can heat in a microwave My friends brother was joking around and saying they were gonna cut it open which terrified me to life and my eyes were filled with tears. I feel Addies emotions ❤

Jess literally said a few times that they were just doing their job and she was thankful for that so she acknowledged that in the video her daughter watched it happening and Jess was trying to comfort her and explain the process to her because she was visibly upset and for the male TSA agent to also try to comfort her and trying to lighten the mood is saying something because even he noticed how his coworker was handling it and how it was affecting Addie so kudos to him for trying to help the situation the lady could of taken a better approach 🤷🏼‍♀️

Some people really really don't like reborn dolls and you can't expect them to treat them as a real baby.. TSA wasn't rude, she was doing her job. It is just a toy in the end and not a real baby. She didn't throw it around or wasn't rough etc. She got it back in 1 piece without being damaged which is more than I can say travelling across the US.

I remember I had a doll like this when I was a kid and I asked my dad to hold it and he held it by his leg as we walked along. And when I realised I screamed and cried so much they couldnt calm me down. Baby dolls are so real for little kids. Poor Addie. 🥹

I think it’s amazing that Addie has Melody. I personally collect reborn dolls and Melody is absolutely precious! ❤ I would feel the same way as Addie if my baby was taken like that and handled so harshly. The glass beads can be concerning, but the one women could’ve handled the baby better, especially because I know how pricey these dolls can get. Hope Addie and Melody aren’t too shaken up by the experience! 😢 Enjoy your trip! ❤

The lady did nothing wrong. She is doing her job. She checked the doll as she was supposed to. She’s not going to cradle it like a newborn and support it’s head... do you know how busy TSA staff are? Maybe you should’ve explained to Addie the doll needed checked so it didn’t come as a surprise to her and made it seem like it was to see how the doll was feeling before the trip... or better still just tell her the truth and don’t make it a big deal but it isn’t a big deal

Don’t worry, what happened to Addie’s doll happens all the time when people fly with reborns. They always x-ray questionably because of how they are weighed inside. They have to swab them for traces of narcotics and scan them several times. Some will even take limbs or the head off to look inside.

To be honest If I was a security worker I would’ve been sweet about the doll but deep inside I would be like “ what the crap is that thing”

The TSA agents were doing there job …. Did you not see the 1, 000+ people waiting to get checked in …. I’m sure last thing tsa was worried about was doll handling ….. It’s a doll …. Which has no feelings !!!!
