An alternative way to sell photography prints - Smugmug Tutorial Pt 5

In this fifth of this series of Smugmug tutorials, I show you an alternative way to sell photography prints using a well-known print on demand (POD) website known as Fine Art America in order to sell photography prints on Smugmug. You can sell photo prints and offer digital downloads, set your own price markup and choose which products you want to make available for sale.

If you only have the basic or power plan then you cannot sell photos on Smugmug using their integrated sales and fulfillment service. However, this option allows you to sell using Fine Art America instead.

FAA is just one of many PODs where you can sell your photos as prints, but what is great about FAA is that you also get your own unique microsite that you can direct your customers to in order for them to make purchases. It’s easy to integrate this into your Smugmug website and you can link potential customers directly to the product page for any photo, allowing them to choose from multiple products. Customers from anywhere in the world can purchase here.

The greatest part of all this is that you do not need to get involved in the sale at all. FAA takes care of everything, from payment, manufacturing and shipping directly to the customer. You can choose how much you want to make (your markup) for each print size and product type.

Hi Ian. I currently have a "power" subscription with Smugmug with photos in one standard Gallery. Is there a way of putting a Buy Print button (linking to the specific photo on my pixel site) on an individual photo without creating a new gallery as you have described?

Are Fine Arts America and Pixel free to sign up and sell?
