❗❗THIS VIDEO CONTAINS P5 SPOILERS. Only watch it if you beat the original Persona 5 game❗❗
.
.
With that said, what is YOUR Persona 5 Palace Themes Tier List? Let me know in the comments!
I tried to do something VERY different with this video and shot it as a sort of essay like 8-Bit Music Theory, rather than a reaction / analysis.
It took twice the regular amount of time to make, so I'd love to hear your feedback on this, guys!
Do you find it more informative / entertaining, or are reacts better?
Personally, I think not having "react" in the title will probably cause this video to not do well, but let's see!

Actually, Ark is a remix of Tokyo Daylight. The reason for this is because Tokyo Daylight is the theme that plays when you're walking around in society, living your day to day life. So since Shido's palace is his own warped view of society, it's genius that Ark is a remix of that track.

I can't hear "The Ark" without mentally hearing Shido screaming "I HUMBLY ASK YOU ALL TO CAST YOUR VOTE FOR ME, MAYOSASHI SHIDO"!

I want to point out that "A Woman" operating in an ambiguous tone is thematically relevant. Madarame did both good and very bad things for Yusuke, opposed to Kamoshida who is very overtly a scumbag, which forms an ambiguous opinion of him. He must navigate that opinion and choose to fight the bad parts in spite of the good parts instead of forgive them because of the good ones.

Your "A Woman" remix is DOPE, loved the short part you showed.

I'll say this...I REALLY want to see him discuss Royal content music.

EDIT: I tried being discreet but people are posting spoilers in my responses DO NOT READ

A quick fun fact. In A Woman, when you listen closely at around 1:15 (from the ost), you can hear photocopiers used in the soundtrack, as a somewhat deep bass line. And it just fits in perfectly with the story about Madarame and his pupils. So just wanted to point it out, it made me appreciate the song so much more.

The Whims of Fate is just something special. The way everything builds up to Sae's palace, it felt like the epic conclusion to the game, and then there's just more game, with even more music. Whims Of Fate for Act 1, Rivers in the Desert for Act 2, Yaldabaoth/Our Beginning for Act 3. Honestly, it felt like everything up to the end of Sae's Palace and the aftermath was the $60 game you payed for, and the later half was a sequel Atlas threw in to be nice.

I think that Ark is criminally underrated.

Personally "When My Mother Was There" is my favourite palace theme in the game, I vibe with it very heavily and I love it's meaning. I jam to it fairly regularly, much moreso than the other theme.
Also on a different note Ark is another one of my favourites and I wanted to bring attention to the alternate version of the theme that plays exclusively in the ship's restaurant. It goes from this climactic orchestral almost action movie-eque to this really calm low-key beautiful classical piano piece while losing none of the main melody. You mentioned how you like when themes can easily convert to other genres and I think this track is definitely a good example of that. I'm also a big fan of the name "An improvised song dedicated to the next prime minister's ship" it's just hilariously long-winded.
Whims of Fate is definitely my second favourite. I'm pretty sure I did a cover of it a long time.ago but it's one of the few songs I'm super confident singing.

Until this point, I was intentionally avoiding fully watching this video because of spoilers but yesterday I heard the theme that plays on #1 of this video and I was instantly captured by that song. It's really damn good. I hope you listen to the theme of new palace added to Persona 5 Royal. That's also amazing.

As a bassist myself, it’s perfectly normal to be sexually attracted to a bassline.

Alex, I could honestly watch you jam out to your own music all day long. That's a vibe right there.

I love "A Woman" because it's very different from the others, rather than hyping you up it makes you feel like you're sneaking into a place you shouldn't be, after hours. It gives this feeling of isolation and deceit, which is both very fitting for the palace (art galleries are typically very empty and quiet spaces), and the real life scenario behind it. I might be biased as an artist myself but it really captures the calmness and reflectiveness of visual art.
