We learned that, although not necessarily a good person, Mika contributes heavily toward Ann’s maturity and character development, but we still don’t know why Nanako is staring.

Mika is basically a replacement for Shiho, but Shiho does return in third semester, and the confidant can still be worked on during the third semester, I believe.

I do think the way Ann interacts with the world around her is really interesting. When she’s insulted or wronged, she often takes it in stride, and as a means of empowerment or motivation for self-improvement. Ann could’ve taken Mika’s behavior really badly, and to be clear, she would’ve been 100% in the right to do that, Mika was a massive bitch.

But instead, she fixated on Mika’s frustration with having to work her way to her current position, and her own experience where she just kind of fell into modeling, and barely even has to try. And instead of retaliating, she used that to motivate herself to be more passionate about modeling, and even form a friendly rivalry with Mika. Ann often reacts to things in ways that I totally don’t expect, but welcome nonetheless

I really liked how Mika accepted Ann as her competition when Ann finally confronted her. Made me respect Mika because she saw that Ann was different and accepted the challenge.

along with the fact that most of the social things are voice acted so we can’t just forget the characters I’m them unfortunately.

Mika is so important to Ann that she even blindly trusted his innocence during the Mementos Mission manga thanks to the fact that Ann knew that despite all of Mika's dirty tricks she still had the Pride of a model.

In addition, Ann herself mentions it, Mika is the same as her favorite villains from her childhood, beautiful, strong and evil.

Shiho was a a huge part of Ann’s Character in the beginning, and is throughout her entire social link. The reason why more people remember Shiho than Mika is because the stuff with Shiho was not her fault, she was a victim of Kamoshida and his disgusting desires, and she was right at the very beginning of the game when the player is still introducing themselves to this new world and cast. Mika was narratively interesting too, but she’s also only really seen if you’re running through Ann’s social link, and while I think it’s something that most persona fans would do out of instinct, it kinda makes Mika feel more like a side character in Ann’s development than Shiho does.

I thought it was interesting she gets her own portrait. I can't remember if any Social link specific character has one other than her. That's what tipped me off that there's more significance to her than initially thought
