Fun fact, in Royal the Will Seed rooms will usually have things for you to hear while inside. They’re normally supposed to be the voice of the ruler, but for Futaba you hear Wakaba’s voice instead of hers

I also think on the sly it was also a nod to her shadow trying to light a fire under her since she was too apathetic/sloth. "Get angry, get mad!" Etc

While this is completely true, there’s a lot more to it. The Phantom Thieves didn’t know about Futaba’s cognition of her mother until just before the boss fight, and I don’t think they were fully aware of Futaba’s survivor’s guilt or her blaming herself for Wakaba’s death. Thus, they wouldn’t have known about the elements that defined her palace as The Pyramid of *Wrath* when they made the calling card.

i remember she's write her own calling card and that's how
she sees herself

I thought this was GENIUS! When a person is depressed, their emotions just shut down, you are at you lower state of energy, seemingly slakin off, but that depression is actually the overwhelming weight of all the emotions you dont want to feel, is like being buried in tons of coal, so what you need to get out of there? Burn it, thats where the Wrath comes in, when you let you feel your emotions, you will find out how angry and wrathful you feel, it feels really unpleasant but is necesary in order to move on and take control of your own life, thats why Futaba's Palace is a pyramid lost in desert, she's someone who lives in the past and far from everyone despite her love for technology, and thats why the Phantom Thieves thought that her sin was sloth, cuz thats how depression looks from outside AND thats why her "Cognitive Mom" was the real guardian of the treasure and not Futaba herself, because what Futaba really wanted was to connect with her own emotions and reality and in order to do so, she needed to confront her own memories and get MAD!

FUCK THIS PALACE IS AMAZING!!!

Basically: If you think about it, Futaba feels as if she has _lost control_ of her life, so.. the Pyramid has Futaba not being _in control_

She was a sinner of sloth and the palace was controlled by wrath, wrath refers to her mother's cognition, I don't see how people misunderstood that

Futaba/Shadow Futaba = The Being who has anger that she doesn't express

Cognitive Wakaba = The False WRATH of a Woman who was never wrathful

Wait did people not realize this??
It’s kind of easily spelled out for you
“Yes this IS her palace but she’s not the one in control”
I’m wondering if the people that didn’t know are usually the types to just skip or ignore cutscenes most of the time

Futaba's palace is my favorite (and her is my fav char too) but also because it had this specific circumstances that made it unique

Funny thing I noticed from my playthrough of Royal; while Futaba is described as a "sinner of Sloth", that title more applies to the general public and the Mementos Depths, or as I like to call it... The Prison of Sloth. The people stop acting for themselves, wanting to be told what to do, willingly allowing themselves to be trapped in a prison where they will be "safe". Basically, the people feel slothful and content on letting their lives be ruled by the God of Control.

Yes Futaba herself is the sloth. But her mom was the wraith sin. That was compelling the sloth to remain stuck in its paralyzing state.

I think it's the phantom thrives misunderstanding what Futaba's palace is.

Also if note: a palace of sloth already exists in the depths

There is actually a specific name for what futaba is and that’s a hikkikomori which is what she refers to as a shut- in

Each phantom thief seem to represent a sin while the palaces do so in their own right, like how the bank represents gluttony, but Makoto seems to be the phantom thief of wrath...

In this short we explain what is explained by the game. 😂

I don't know why it's so complicated, yes Futaba let the buildup of pain isolate herself and properly label her as sloth the palace is self hate so it's both sloth and wrath

I think the calling card refer’s to the ruler and the Achievements refer to the boss, Cognitive Wakaba was Wrathful but Futaba was a sinner of sloth.

People REAAAALLLY misunderstand her palace and her sin, to the point of devs knowing it would be confusing and made Ryuji(The literal representation of simple-minded) be the representation of P5's fandom and saying "Oh her Sin is Sloth" and literally all the other Phantom Thiefs looking at him like: ... Really, Ryuji? Y'know what, wathever, let's just go with it.

Anyway, some explanations on her palace:

1- Futaba herself is the sinner of wrath. Yes, she is. Wrath is Irrational thinking because of overflowing emotions, it's a sin because it causes harm to others and *oneself* all because of the sinner being incapable of thinking clearly. Futaba, was so incapable of thinking clearly, that even though she was asking for help, she was rejecting the PT all the time, represented by those traps everytime you would find her shadow. Her shadow was actually angry ALL the time they were there, but, she was NOT angry at the PT, they were just a secundary victim, just like what happens when someone is mad and angry, their target is not the only one affected by their irracional thinking.

Futaba's shadow was trying to be rational, while Futaba herself wasn't, therefore, as much as she was trying to help, real Futaba would still try to reject everyone, because she HATES herself, wich is a kind of wrath.

This is so well done, that her palace even represents what happens with misunderstandings caused by wrath: Futaba HERSELF notices that she wasn't the culprit, but ONLY after she calms down. Just like someone angry will not notice that they misunderstood something, unless, of course, they stop and try to think clearly.

2- No, her sin is not Sloth, because A- Even tho she's a shut in, is not because os Sloth, it's because of WRATH, and also because of her traumas. She's actually a really active person for being a shut-in, because not a single slothfull person would learn so much about coding, hacking and such, to the point of becoming famous, in such short amount of time, and B- there's already another palace for Sloth.

3- That's the reason she becomes good after having her treasure stolen. If you stole Vanity from someone, they'll feel bad for the bad things they done, same with Proud, Lust, and such. But in this case we just stole her Wrath, we CALMED HER DOWN, we helped her to think clearly and let those emotions get on control. We are always "Stealing" the sins from the Palace Rulers, and in Futaba's case, it actually made her life better.
