Who doesn't love hardcore characters in always-on games

Hardcore mode in this game is literally just for punishing players, not rewarding them.

This is generally why I never play hardcore mode, especially in games thay require online connections: Losing your character to power or internet outages is unfair IMO. Its also a relatively big waste of time just due to that.

That being said, i understand the appeal and its more about the experience rather than meaningful progression.

Im surprised they are still trying to make a hardcore race in the game that doesn't know how to handle disconnects in other way than just killing you

There's a place for hardcore, and that's in roguelikes, where your time investment is measured in hours instead of weeks or months. And the games are usually always designed well.. and not permanently online. No loss to technical issues.

People who play games with long term progression in hardcore mode are people I can't understand. Path of Exile is the only real exception, because your character isn't instantly deleted, it's just sent to standard league.

Hardcore and roguelikes only work in offline environments. Mostly offline environments also work where you can disconnect and reconnect because everything is client side. Because the only contributing factor to losing progress permanently should be player ability.

The amount of dying I have done compared to the pre-update is insane. The amount of damage done to us compared to what we can put out is worse than a Dark Souls game. The difference is that you can get better at Dark Souls, while in Diablo 4, it only gets worse.

He's playing hardcore for his audience, that's why he doesn't rage when this happens over and over again. He understands that this is a live game and at any point he can get disconnected on his end or on the server end. As Asmon says, hardcore characters are a waste of time. Though in this case it's not wasted time because the HC character is paying the bills.

One of the only good thing about minion necromancer, you can dc and your minions can keep you alive depending on the situation.

Playing hardcore in D4 is like agreeing to get kicked in the balls if you choose to play the game, but the kick is unrelated to the win or lose conditions of the game,
it can just happen at any point in time and you'll just look silly for even playing it.

That is why it doesn't make sense to play hardcore except for offline. You lose net for one second or crash and hundreds of hours are lost

his power went out like his char should def zone out faster or whatever on dc, but its def a freak occurrence at least its not the blizz servers goin down randomly or whatever
