Even if they say the game has like 100 dungeons they ALL feel the same. there's like 5 or so real variants between them. TOO litle mob diversity, feels like you are always killing the same clusters, werewolves, bandits, vampires, spiders demons and church people

its cause you can visibly see yourself getting weaker as you progress and you get one shot every 3 minute in endgame.

Edit: I am stating the reason why most people quit, this isn't a comparison between poe and diablo

Your character is dependent on gear and glyphs. One paragon point barely makes a difference. Glyphs you have control over, gears you do not. The fact of the matter is your character gain 1 level and so do the mob, but power wise your character barely make a difference while the mob out scale you.

In diablo, your build feels like a check list at endgame. youre not chasing power, youre trying to survive. if you want to compare the two, in poe your endgame youre a god, in diablo youre just a really strong guy.

Glad to see people are catching on and I'm not crazy. I really want to continue playing and enjoying D4, but there was just no reason to continue once I hit lvl80. Usually I switch to different builds and experiment but I don't even want to do that since it's such a headache to respec currently. I also don't enjoy pushing Grift 100 where everything takes forever to die and a monster coughing in your direction will insta kill you. Maybe it's a modern ARPG thing, but I prefer the loot and speedfarming that is D2R.

I agree except the power level actually goes down at the end rather than flat lining because as you go up in level you don't get stronger but the mobs do lol

I think a big problem is that most are burned out at level 60-70 and nothing in the game changes because every monster scale with you. You are basically playing level 1 from level 1-100 and it is pretty boring. I would have liked the game more if there were zones for 1-20, 20-40, 40-80, 80-100 or something like that because it would have felt as if you actually are getting stronger when you are able to do later content.. Leveling should also have been faster and items that you find should not be capped to YOUR LEVEL because a level 100 can not trade good self-found gear with leveling alts. The game is made too simple that it gets bland and stupid.

I pretty much quit after level 60. Just not trying to do the same dungeon 100x just to level up and slightly improve my gear, when the game is just constantly getting harder despite getting better gear.

ive stopped b/c of world scaling. i tried re-rolling a new class, hit the same "not fun" wall.
*sigh*

Biden's votes looked like that red line too! 😅

I agree with this, I'm about 80 hours in or so and the whole thing becomes a chore. Grinding renown, finding drops which increases a single value by minuscule amounts and repeating the same grind over and over, seeing every dungeon debuffed so as not to help people level too fast. What's left is waiting for timed events to start and grind these (currently grinding Helltides).

But even with a T5 difficulty, it is just more of the same progression. You will reach the same plateau as you did at lvl80-85 in 10 more levels (sure, you'll be close to lvl100 then) but the venues for upgrading your characters power is still so limited. For example: the given "best stats" for any build in the game to have on their weapons is already solved. You want Vulnerable, Crit Damage, Main stat / All stat and a damage bonus contributing to your main ability or maybe Overpower. The complexity in the late-game build crafting just isn't there in D4.

PoE has any number of variations to get higher damage in the end game with stat-stacking, damage conversions, flat added elemental, ignite, bleed, poison, + skills, etc. and they are all for the most part "viable" in the sense that you can invest into them so that you are able to complete all encounters in the game with them. Not fast or effectively with all of them, but you can clear them. As Asmon shows in the video, the progression curve is fucked when it comes to itemization. So much of the character power is front loaded that there really isn't much to build into item wise in the late-game (and even the Paragon boards doesn't solve this issue). I have no idea why Unique items for example are all meant to be semi end-game items that you can only find once you've finished the game. Would be so much more fun to find Uniques to experiment with while playing through the campaign / leveling your character. And that touches on another issue - there's just too few Uniques in the game currently with 8/9 items per class plus another 10 or so "general" Uniques. If Season 1 doesn't add a bunch of them to each class to add more variation and unique interactions, the late-game will remain stale.

They made it into a MMORPG type game but severely nerfed player to player interaction
-trading is nerfed to hell you can only trade a small amount of things
-pvp areas are dominated by high levels
-you never run into other players outside of towns and certain world events.
-everything is soloable, and you get max tier gear pretty easily

As a casual gamer, I stopped playing after finishing the campaign (which I enjoyed a lot) and shortly after reaching the paragon board. The grind didn't feel rewarding and many of the dungeons and enemies felt the same. There just isn't much to do after the campaign except grind and min-max with random loot drops which is awful for casual gamers

This game really need an actually world chat. I really hope they go all out on the MMO stuffs cause right now it's not enough even for a mostly offline player like me.

The itemization is what led me to hang the game up at lvl 52. I knew something was wrong when I started getting handed legendaries at like lvl 10. Oh and there really isn't a social aspect to the game at all I might as well be playing Grim Dawn.

The bad thing about level scaling is that if you don't find the right upgrade in time, you will be left behind. There are only a few affixes that are truly useful, and depending on the gear slot, getting most of those affixes to roll all on that gear slot is tough. Enchanting can only help you so much and it becomes prohibitively expensive. I've been stuck with the same weapon at lvl 65 and am now 76, and I am definitely noticing how much longer it takes to kill enemies. Finally, while some uniques are useful, the majority of them have less than ideal affixes. Are you going to go with that awesome unique pants/chest that lacks any damage reduction? Do they even play their own game?

I hit 84, and have gotten not one useable unique for my build, not one useable legendary in 4 levels or even a rare that can be upgraded to be better than what I have. I've wasted so much gold and materials upgrading items 10+ levels higher than my current gear only to have it fall massively short.

D4 feels so good to play and the campaign was A1, but itemization and level scaling kills the game.

Items have so many % to multiple shit and with damage buckets you barely know how much of an increase an item really is, i end up salvaging almost everything because i can't bother looking all that up

I don't wanna be that guy, but I watched Asmon play every POE season back then. He quits that game at around level 80 to 85. Where he gets one shot as well...
