Thanks Brad. I used to hate JS (I've been programming Python and Java for a while).
I've known you and your channel for like a month but I already learnt a lot.
Now JS is my favorite programming language hahaha.
One day I'll be a web developer, all thanks to you.

I was thinking about building a URL shortener today using javascript. Brad has almost every fundamentals you need for building a Javascript project. Be it a desktop app using Electeon or a or a website using React.

401 is unauthorized, you should use 400 bad request or 422 unprocessable entity

Thanks for adding the code in your description! You wouldn't understand how helpful it is for beginner coders like me! :)

This is so good, thank you. I always wondered how URL shorteners work their magic, and it's interesting to see really how simple it is.

Thanks to your tutorials I actually did this myself a couple weeks ago!

You ever get around to making a full course on this? Like with a UI and such? I'd like to see that, especially if you use :PORT for the api and :80 for the service.

Hey Brad! Great video as usual, keep 'em coming! But if you can do a video on React+TS+Redux and maybe talk a bit more abut app design/development patterns, e.g. fractal, ducks for Redux etc. (mid to large projects) using the said technologies that'd be awesome!

Love all your videos, but this is one of my favorites. Really liked it.
It's straight to the point, simple, gives a googd overview of node and mongo. Just what I was looking for!

I have one question though: Do you prefer to code all your business logic inside the routers itself? I've seen people divide it and have the routes just pointing to controllers? Is that how you do in bigger projects?

Hey, thanks for the video. Also, thanks for the course on php from 2014... I knew your voice sounded familiar!

Thanks Brad, I almost took all of your courses and I build a huge base knowledge with JS with you I wish if you could consider sequlize package for mysql databases in your future project there's very little resources out there on how to use it in the right way.

This is a great Video! Learned a ton, always thought it would be harder :D But quick mention, before you get on and create a front end, you would also have to check if a shortid is already in the database, or else you're gonna have conflicts am I right? I mean it would be an edge-case, but something that could possibly happen :D Thank you for your videos, you're doing great stuff, keep it up!
