With these projects commercial areas nearby are a must. And schools too and hospitals. Parks are great too. Transport links and systems too. Yeah it takes a lot to really get upwards mobility going. Chinese urban design does take those into account. I know some European countries such as the Netherlands and Sweden also do well.
