As Africans we shouldn't just receive, we should also learn from them so that we can be in a position to give as well

The Western world, Australia and India will say this are all a debt trap. But instead of accusing and criticising China, I don't see any of them willing to help the poor nations of Africa for decades, let alone helping to rebuilt Iraq or Afghanistan after destroying the country with their lies.

When China was poor, they gave support to Africa. A rich man donating a part of his surplus is admirable. But, When a poor man helps another poor man, that is real humanity.

China's investment into Africa spans all the way back to 1960's when the Tazara railway was built to link tanzania and zambia. At that time there were widespread famine in China, but the government offered to help in a showing of solidarity and friendship against imperialism. The project was funded by interest free loans.

Smart move for China to actually help to build up Africa and secure good relations with them for the future, unlike what the western colonial powers did. Hopefully, this time it will be a win-win for both sides at the table.

I am intrigued by the speed and effectiveness of the Chinese. I am not taking sides but merely sharing my observation of what has been happening over the past decade. Communist, Socialist, Capitalist, it doesn't matter when I am looking purely at tangible outcomes. The outcomes in China have been remarkable. Lifting hundreds of millions of its citizens above extreme poverty. No they did not eradicate poverty however the fact that they lifted almost 300 million people out of extreme poverty in such a short amount of time is amazing. The Chinese are focused on getting initiatives completed and they are doing it very quickly. They know that a growing economy needs a healthy population of consumers. They know countries like US, UK, Australia, Japan, S. Korea, Germany, France will be threatened by a growing Chinese economy and so they cannot depend on those consumers to continuously buy products from Chinese companies. I am not sure if China is trying to create debt traps. I don't think so because I believe they are trying to cultivate new consumers to buy products from Chinese companies in the future. I believe they are projecting soft diplomacy with investments to create a positive mindset towards China and Chinese companies and products. Western pop culture used to be effective in projecting positive views on western culture however that is changing with democratization of content creation and access worldwide. Nothing is free however the idea of China taking ownership in return for their investments does not make sense. They want populations that are self sustaining and can grow on their own to buy more Chinese products and services in the future.

When the Chinese invest in Africa it is called a 'Debt Trap' but when the West invest in Africa it is called 'Investment'. A business has to make a profit no matter what country you are in.

The West prefer to focus on short term profit business model while the Chinese focus more on building long term relationship and a win win partnership. Which is better for Africa? Let me

As much as we may say we don't need such support it is very necessary. I really like the fact that these guys are training the locals on better ways to do things. it's very necessary. I believe we can explore options on working with Chinese and make it more of a win win case.

Chinese can live with Africans, and work together. That's the spirit. We Chinese also just recently beat poverty, so can link with Africans, and share our experience. This is the same for less developed Chinese areas. E.g. Xinjiang also grew out of poverty and become prosperous, but then you have all the western media trying to create lies and separate Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia out of China.
