Honeybun Cake - The Hillbilly Kitchen

Honeybun cake is far better than boxed snack or breakfast cakes and way yonder cheaper. Everybody loves it hot out of the oven for breakfast and when they get them mid-day cravings they will be around for another chunk. You might want to make two at a time if you have a large family so there is enough for a bedtime snack.

Matthew 28:18-20

Cake Ingredients:
1 Yellow box cake mix
1 Cup of sour cream
3/4 Cup of vegetable oil
4 Eggs

Filling Ingredients:
3/4 Cup of brown sugar (if you pack it)
1/2 Cup of chopped pecans
2 Teaspoons of cinnamon

Glaze Ingredients:
1 Cup of powdered sugar
1 Tbs of milk (any milk with work)
1 Tsp of vanilla

I chuckled at your comment about using the Christmas pans at Easter...My heart sister (not blood kin but oh so loved) and her family and my family FINALLY celebrated out Christmas last weekend...it has been a hard year for both of us. We figured though, that we really SHOULD celebrate His birth before we mourn His death on the cross and then celebrate again for His resurrection! Thank you for this treat, I think I will use it Easter weekend.

Duncan Hines cake mix is still 15.25 ounces by weight. After the 'lockdowns', Betty Crocker's box mixes dropped to 13.25 ounces. Buyer Beware!
