The Crystal Creek Water Ditch Trail of the WNRA -An 1850s Historic Water Ditch-

Показать описание
It was Shasta County pioneer Charles Camden who named Crystal Creek after its crystal-clear flowing water in its channel. It was also Camden who built this present-day historic water ditch along its channel with his paid laborers between 1854 and 1856. However, what was the reason behind it? Find out more in my newest video about this amazing water ditch system and trail here, and if you have time be sure to visit this place with your friends and family at the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. You will need a park pass to enter. The trail is an easy hike with incredible views of Crystal Creek along the way, and it's a one-way only 0.8-mile hike. Bring water, food and snacks with you to enjoy this trail. Enjoy, the video! This video was filmed on location June 11, 2022.

Been in the Redding area since 1968 and have never seen the intake end of the ditch. Thanks for taking me to another spot I haven't been to yet. Keep up the great work Jeremy.

That Go Pro your shooting with when you can is amazing quality in 4K. Stunning to see these sites with it. I remember that Facebook live video you did with California Unearthed at Charles Camden’s grave in Oakland. I’m still waiting on that video to be released soon. That man had money from his enterprises!

Awesome, video Jeremy. Didn’t know Camden had this ditch. Interesting. You should shoot a video on the Camden House. Would be neat.

Just think all of the back breaking work by hand in that triple digit heat, or was most of the work done in the winter? Still. This is an amazing feat. Great content, Jeremy!

I cannot even imagine the work and time spent to do this. Let alone all by hand. Also, the cost of the metal and labor. Some of the workings look a little newer. You I know will know this, but up to the early 40s rivets are the way to bond, then welding 40s on up. thank you for your work nice job ALL stay safe
