Hamada Grounds • Playing Live on the Electribe Pads

Показать описание
I decided to put my other gear aside for this song. It’s just the Electribe. Audio straight to the camera. No additional editing.
This is the device I do most of my songwriting on. I wanted to capture the essence of what that experience is like, but as a performance. Playing live on the pads until I find something that sounds decent, then bringing in the other parts to fill it out. And later, I would bring in the other gear too.
The MFX is Wet Reverb. I'm using two synth parts, the poly synth you hear through the entire song and a bass synth, along with 6 drum sounds. The poly synth IFX is the Band Plus Filter. It's a neat effect, mixing a Band Pass Filter with the original signal. So you can get that filter sound, without losing too much of the original tone of your part.
Towards the end of this song, you'll see me motion record toggling the MFX Send button on the snare. It's very simple to do, but it was something I didn't know was possible until about a year into using the device. It is in the manual, but I didn’t understand what it meant until later. You can do this with the toggle for the IFX or MFX Hold as well.
Original live electronic music using the Korg Electribe 2. This song is called "Hamada Grounds."
