Absolutely, you are right. Hotel Management only looks glamorous from outside, but otherwise its too strenous, more hard work, long duty hours, very less salary at all levels unless top positions, no employee welfare or HR friendly rules, exploitation (unless you are in 5-star which not everybody gets job into) and then even though we might say world has changed, people have developed, still I would say Hotel Management has not got the respect in a common level as a good career as any other jobs, even meneal. And the worst is the customers. Whether in 5-star or normal hotel, whether its rich people or poor, every client and customer would think that Hotel Management staff are their servants and show their whims and fancies, especially Indians and especially the family members, including kids, show off their arrogance and attitude of money towards you. Hotel Management college life is ok until you complete the course, but life shows its tough reality only after that.

You should get your facts cleared
If you’ve passion for this industry then only you should get into it.
There are some programs which top brands offer if you have enough knowledge where in a span of 18 months you can advance to the managerial level.
Your review sounds like someone who is confused about everything, just only it turned out bad for you that doesn’t mean it’s a bad industry. Glamour which you see from outside is true but only if you’ve talent for it.

Beta tum jo rai hotel management advice de rahe ho Maine yahi vichar karne ke bad hi apni beti ko bahut mana Kiya tha parantu meri beti ne hamari ek na suni auir apni hi jid karke us degree ko kara auir mere ten lakh barbad kara diye ab uske pas dus se pandrah hajar/month naukari karne ke siva koi bhi option nahi hai . Mera to yaha tak sochna hai ki jo log bhi yah kahate hai ke vo mahine ki lakh rupaye selari pate hai vah bilkul jooth bolte hai yadi unhe milta bhi hoga to apne sat se aath sal dus se barah gante kam karne ke bad hi milta hoga. The hotel management jobs are the worst job in India. One has to work like a laborer and the salary is very less, there is no time to go home, one has to work for 15 to 16 hours, After working for 15 to 16 hours, there is no overtime. Have to stand all the time during 15 hours of duty. And to get promotion you have to flatter your senior.

Sab khatam Mera BC 10k mei 5star mei kar raha huin... Bro/Sis don't come hotel industry...koi glamour nahi hai...pastaoge 16 to 20 hours duty daily. no off no family life..more big hotel more working hours..
