I have a dedicated line and a pump connected to it, and everything works great. I have hot water upstairs at the furthest point within seconds. However I want to change the HWH to a hybrid electric, and I have heard conflicting views as to whether a hybrid will work properly if connected to a recirculating pump. Any thoughts?

How does the recirculating pump over come the water pressure in the cold water line to send that cool water back to the water heater?

Is the cold water safe to drink if the circulating pump is mixing the cold line with water from your water heater? Or do you need to run the cold water for a minute before drinking, to flush the line?
