How to shoot tethered with Canon Cameras

Lets talk all things tethering. From the very basics of how to tether your camera through to some more advanced tethering techniques. In this video we briefly use Adobe Lightroom and also Capture One. The app I use on my ipad is called Capture One pilot. There will be a video all about that soon.

I just shot tethered for the first time a couple days ago for headshots and wow, I've been missing out just from organization alone. And the people could pick what they wanted while I had them standing there, and I could show them what I was seeing and they could understand how I'm asking them to make adjustments better. I don't know why I took so long to start doing it

I've been using capture One for as long as I can remember. I think the agencies forced me back in the day to get a realistic option especially as they all like to pixel shift. Keep up the great work. Its refreshing to have someone on the same page.. Cheers!!

I’ve never used Capture One and never used Adobe. I use On1 and I’ll say the tethering is probably 70-80% between these two. I do find it sufficient. Just posting to give honest viewers an option. Great video!

Can't agree more that Capture One is way better than Lightroom in terms of tethering, and I prefer to familiarize Capture One for the sake of uninterrupted professional workflow from start to finish. For around 1, 5 years now, I use Capture One with Affinity Photo for my commercial work from photoshoot until retouch session and I have no regret at all not using any of Adobe software anymore.

Excellent video. Is it possible to tether two cameras simultaneously to a computer with Phase One and take two short simultaneously too. For example, when digitising a book, two cameras to be set at 45 degrees to take an image of two open pages. I will be grateful if you could answer this. Thank you!

What tethering cable do you use? I have a Tether Tools cable and yes, it does keep falling out and disconnecting.

Nice table. I am thinking about getting a second monitor but how is it powered in your trolly? Seems a bit redundant to use a laptop if I’m running a cord for a monitor anyway

Thank you so much for the video my Canon 5D IV keeps disconnecting when tethering all the time, I am sick of it I even use the original USB 3.0 cable that comes with it and even I tried connecting it via WiFi it just keeps disconnecting, what do you recommend me to do?
