I've been out of the widow game for over a decade, but it used to be just about every window manufacturer would void the warrantee if window tint was used. On dual pain widows if they were tinted it would blow the seals and I'd have to tell the customer their window isn't covered anymore because of the window tint, And also to check with the company that did the window tint to see if they covered the windows against seal failure

I agree with mad max, they have films that are rated much higher for heat rejection plus with film you might have to wait a week as for certain windows have a 16-20 week lead time

I have a very old 15-20 year old dual pane window. The previous owner installed massive windows so everyone can see right into the front room and kitchen. I installed Gila window film, but the windows heat up in the summer. I am considering 3m ceramic window film for added heat reduction in the summer, but also privacy.
