Instead of removing the yarn string (core) out first, you could just tie one end of it to the paracord and as you pull out the yarn it will pull in the cable. Makes the process a lot faster and easier.

I have made some research and it turns out it's better to use shielded cable, such as UL2547. The shielding is supposed to have contact with the metal "cages", which are placed around the connectors in this video. Such practice would prevent the cable from working as antenna and spreading electromagnetic interference.

Another quality video. Truly one of the most underrated channels, keep up the good work!

i like your use of that clip for soldering the wires to the usb pinouts. i'm gonna have to do that from now on. always felt awkward trying to use helping hands on their own

for tinning first heat up the wires and then add solder its easy and requires less heat

Great video. I would use an Ohm meter to check continuity between the cable ends before plugging it into anything. Only takes a couple minutes and there's no risk.

Don't be afraid of putting enough flux paste/gel on the pins before soldering tinned wires to them. Blips/bumps will look much better. Otherwise the oxydation does its job and it is difficult to solder.

This video quality is incredible. There is simple no other way to say it. Great job.

Hi sir, thanks for the video! Managed to make my own coiled cable following your other guide. You may want to use acetone to remove the printed labels on the black heatshrink. :)

My first time here - and I almost left as soon as I saw the "terrible" video quality (beginning and end). Good thing I quickly realized it was on purpose! lol. Quality is top notch. Great instructional.

Quality video. I just got some parts in for my first cables and I was wondering if one would use a crimping tool for the connector but this is yet another video in which the maker just used pliers. I guess that's sufficient then.

Another great video! Maybe have a look into plastic/metal cases to go around the usb connectors instead of the shrink wrap? Unsure of where one would purchase these though. Keep it up!

@fizo can you go into detail about the note mentioned that said a 56k ohm resistor would be necessary in between pins 2 and 3 for the usb C soldering job. I'm thinking that is an important detail that nobody fully understood. Do you buy it with the resistor pre installed? What is the purpose of it and what are the purchasing options, or when do we need it? Did your cable have one? Sorry if this has been discussed already or if some of my facts are wrong.

Thanks for the video, I have been trying to create a C-C cable for my macbook. Seems like my usb-c connectors not the right one as it does absolutely nothing
Both 5.1k resistor and 56k ohm resistor type connector is fine? was not clear for me from the video.
I would appreciate if u could tell something about this.

As expected, another quality content, Ian! 🙂 I still prefer the voice over though. 😅
