The reason the eurostar is so expensive is that there is no competition. The eurostar has no competition and based on that they can charge what they want. Interail is great but it has become more expensive with the years. Interail also doesnt cover the UK, which is a bit sad. If you want to do a great and affordable trip with the train. Germany is increadible during the summer in a lot of places. You can take a eurostar train to Brussels or take a eurostar to Paris (there is a overnight train to berlin). Germany has a realtivly low cost of living so doing a holiday there are cheap trains and busses, accomodation and wonderfull affordable vegan food. There is flixbus and flixtrain where you can go from the beach to the mointains for less than 50 euros sometimes.

Going to try the Eurostar for Paris next year, looking forward to trying something new 😊 Definitely trying to be more mindful of flight free options ❤

Cool video ❤ Such an important issue to discuss!

Imo flying is way too cheap considering its environmental impact. Until that changes I think we are responsible for cutting down as much as we can individually. Planning your holiday a bit more probably makes them better anyways. If we can, we should opt for less frequent and instead longer stays (if they involve flying) which also allows for deeper cultural immersion.

I personally cannot justify spontaneous short-term holidays to myself. Luckily, I love train travel and exploring flight-free travel options. I find it a lot harder to decide about flying to visit family/friends or for optional work trips though. Can be really difficult sometimes.

I think reducing flying is definitely a good idea however cutting it out completely is definitely not reasonable for many. I haven't flown since 2007 and haven't been abroad since 2010!

I have only ever been on buses/coaches/trains but never an airplane. From the environment aspect I would prefer to travel on a train or coach. Another fantastic video Nicole discussing travel options but as you mentioned depending on where you go it might not be practical not to go by airplane. Love 🥰 the video and love ❤ Nicole.

My friends just got their flixbus cancelled as part of a wider trip and it is now risking a lot of their bookings and money :( I never had a problem with flixbus except the most uncomfortable bus journey ever from Bucharest to Sofia. But my other flixbuses were fine.

I recently had to process a colleague’s invoice for a return flight… From Manchester to London…

Going Vegan is stupid though...
Flying less might make sense, driving is already sorted, do hybrid not pure EV.

Oh, and you are a pretty lady.
