Garry Adelman and Chris Gwinn visit the location where Abraham Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address and "step in" to the famous 1863 photograph.

I was there for the 150th anniversary. I tried to recreate the photo of the person on the outside of the cemetery at the front gate. It's neat and eerie at the same time to go to the spot today. That it hasn't changed. Thanks guys. Another awesome video.

My great great uncle is buried there. Sgt. Thomas Daugherty. Company K, 19th Indiana Infantry, Iron Brigade. Killed in action on Seminary Ridge July 1st 1863. He was originally buried by Confederate soldiers in the yard of the Lutheran Seminary. One of his comrades had been wounded and captured and witnessed the burial. That gentleman was left behind when the Southern troops retreated after the battle and was able to identify the grave sight and so my uncle would later be reburied in the soldiers national cemetery.

It's amazing that the Gettysburg ceremony was actually photographed and only one photograph actually caught the president sitting down.

Gettysburg is so rich in history. We live in Altoona, so only a few hrs away from there & typically come for a weekend each Fall. Looking forward to coming this year again. There's so much there that I learn something new each year.

My wife has family in the area and I have visited many of the battle sites. My emotions go crazy and my heart drops to the ground thinking about all the death and how that mass killing was the only way they could work out political differences. Even walking the Appalachian Trail I could still feel the sad needless death. And now so many years later humans still resort to mass killing instead of talking it out with a couple of cold beers around a fire pit.
