1999 and 2000 are known in this country for being the years of high turnovers at #1! That Offspring song was annoying. The older kids used to sing it in the playground all the time at secondary school 😂 I did murder 'Perfect Moment' in a talent show (my duet partner dropped out and I had to sing it solo - couldn't even change the song!). Came 2nd lol 🤣 Some of these are still played today, but most of these are forgotten. 'Genie In A Bottle' is my favourite along with 'Maria' and 'She's The One'. I heard the woman in the Wamdue Project video was transsexual? Is this true? That Vengaboys song 'Boom, Boom, Boom' was everywhere. Heard it all the time when I was on holiday to Weston-super-Mare lol 🤣

What I like about this period is, music had personality and it was never boring! Now songs get stuck at #1 (no disrespect to Miley) and a static chart.

1999, annus horribilis. Possibly one of the worst years in mainstream music history. In this video, only 2 songs can be saved: "Maria" (Blondie) and "Fly Away" (Lenny Kravitz). The other songs are so annoying ans embarrassing. Being said that, most of the #1 songs in every countries in the world were lame, horrible.
