I think the saddest thing about Unit 731 is that when all was said and done and they gave their research over for amnesty... The research was decades behind with methods far more unethical than had recently been developed.

"That's a crime"
"No, it's science!"
"Those are not mutually exclusive!"
The entirety of Portal summarized in 3 sentences.

My son fell in the pool as a baby. My response was immediate shoes and all and i was confused how he seemed fine. Not choking like he instinctively held his breath. I wasn't gonna run an experiment on it though.

Not the cruelest thing science has done with an emotion that isn’t mutually exclusive

The worst paet about unit 731 is that Japan still hasn't formally apologised for it.

It’s part of the diving reflex! It’s how we treat SVT(supraventricular tachycardia) if we don’t have fast access to medications. We literally dunk your face in cold water and you hold your breath. It forces the body to slow down, inducing bradycardia. It’s also why tub births can be very useful! Helps relieve a lot of labor pain and as long as baby stays fully submerged until completely delivered- it is safe for mom and baby.

731 is why you know how much of a human body is water.

Oofff. Was not expecting the Unit 731 appearance this holiday weekend.

And the day Unit 731 gets out of the trunk is the day we bring back public flaying.

The 2 things that scare me about Unit 731 is how the people who conducted the experiments were given immunity... How did they quell their bloodlust afterwards?

The other thing is just how much we don't know due to a lot of the evidence being destroyed by the staff of 731.

Actually surprise fact number 3 is that they were able to avoid detection and work in secret for many reasons, one of those reasons being the facitily had a fake entrance with actors and everything, there was only a tunnel that led underground and to the facility we have come to learn of.

"Drown Test Babies" is a pretty ballin' band name, though.

I read a fiction book called unit 731, thinking it was fake I read the whole thing in like 2 or 3 days. Then I looked it up to see if I could buy my own copy( because mine was a library book). I went on a 2 or 3 day rabbit hole trip after realizing it was a real thing. I highly recommend the book

Weird W for the USSR in this situation. They actually prosecuted members of Unit 731 and other Units that they caught in typical Soviet style, and the U.S. declared it propaganda and a distraction from how they treat Japanese POWs.

unit 731 wasn’t science you do not need a strenuous application of the scientific method to find out that if you put a hamster in a blender it’s going to die. That’s the sort of thing they did but with people.
