Paul, I am not commenting for the blue books... I have several as I too am a carpenter. I just want you to know Paul, you are doing for others what I wish other carpenters could have done for you and I when we broke out in construction. I am blessed to have had some good "OLD TIME FRAMERS" who taught me beginning 32 years ago. Although I have not worked construction in a few years due to multiple surgeries from oilfield accident, I do small things with my boys, who are all grown so that I can teach them some of what I was taught.So keep up your instruction videos, you are spot on.

Well explained video.
Way back in the 60's we used to cut the rafters, for the fascias, after they were nailed in place and then we knew they were straight and we were not allowed to nail into end grain. Times change.
