“Read the documentation” has to be one of the most valuable pieces of advice. You’ll get a lot further getting help you can demonstrate that you’re tried helping yourself first (ie, you’ve read the documentation). RTFM can be a frequent response to questions covered in basic docs.

Many Moons ago i used to work in the wackey world of REXX programming. Left, done other stuff, and would like to get back into programming but things have changed so much it's like staring all over again.

I love this video because you give the realistic advice of paying for a tutor instead of the pie in the sky advice of “finding a mentor”. Paid tutors are there for you whereas mentors you feel like you need to bother.

I picked up code a few years ago. Taught myself basic HTML/CSS over the course of a few weeks and actually ended up making a webpage. After I made that webpage though I stopped, for a variety of reasons. The biggest one, I realized that I was trying to do too many things at once. I moved out young, I started working full time, I started going to school full time while working full time, I wanted to be a YouTuber, and even wanted to travel the world lol

Anyways I'm going to pick up code again. Thanks for all the valuable information. People like you on YT are my tutors :)

One way to keep at it is to keep solving practice problems. Sometimes, revisiting your own code for a solved problem could give you a fresh perspective on how to optimize or simplify your code. Cheers, Tiff! 🥰🤓😍

My tip would be to find a YouTube channel to where all they do is code and you follow along as they explain what they are doing. That is what I am doing as pertains to learning Python. John Watson Rooney has over 100 videos based on webscraping, and I watch one every night before I go to bed and intent on watching all of them so that by the time I binge all of his content, I should be able to web scrape data with my eyes closed and learn all the basics (syntax and concepts) along the way, while outputting real world use. He alone has made my skills 10x since I started watching him and I was able to start a few of my very own projects including scraping job data for open positions, a stock checker bot, and a currently (still in progress) an IKEA bot to check inventory for given product.

I have found your videos to not only been inspiring but very informative as how to reach my final goal. Thank you! I finally found a road map to follow, sounds crazy, but what I found was the PCEP Python certifications. I am not sure how valuable they will be finding a job, but what's important is it's giving me a goal to strike for in my preparation for the interviews down the road. I love codding. I can't wait to start working at it full time.

Tiff!, I am enjoying your videos and resources you provide your community! I am just starting my coding journey and have been feeling this kind of way recently. I started off strong but lately have been looking at other tech related things instead of learning the code. I stopped coding HTML and CSS to learn some basic JS, then i stopped JS basics to learn GIT/GITHUB. So its been kind of all over but i am going back to the coding this coming week. I think i just needed a break from all of the coding. luckily for me i am starting early and still have time to give myself these weeks to learn other new things! Thanks again for the informative videos and looking forward to more!
