Donald Trump avoids jail time in New York hush money case

US President-elect Donald Trump has been handed a no penalty sentence after his conviction in his hush money case.

Mr Trump received unconditional discharge – meaning he won't face jail time or be given a fine.

This comes after the Supreme Court denied the US President-elect’s request to halt his sentencing.
